Milan Manzoni means, first and foremost Theatre
To be more precise, dramatic theatre, a great tradition of shows, companies, playwrights and directors, began on the 15th of May 1850 and has been consolidated and developed until today through alternating vicissitudes. The aim of the founders was to create a theatre to renew in Italy the festivities of the great dramatic theatre. It was built in Piazza San Fedele, behind Palazzo Marino, right opposite the church, in the are previously occupied by Palazzo Sannizzari, the proprietor of which - Don Giacomo - owned the famous "Sposalizio" or Marriage of the Virgin by Raphael. Today the Manzoni is one of the city's most famous and celebrated theatres
